Babylon

Babylon
Mesopotamia, the fertile plain between the rivers Euphrates and Tigris, is the land of the oldest advanced high culture of our world. It is the origin of writing, science, literature and state organisation. In the 2nd millennium B.C. Babylon rose to be the policical and economical centre of the region. The town reached its peak under Nebuchadnezzar (604-562 B.C.), who converted Babylon into the biggest and most splendid city of the world at that time.
